About us

In Norse mythology, Freja is the goddess of fertility, battle, and death. Freja is also the name of a friend of ours, who one night took to social media, to ask: ‘What the hell is happening with my cycle and my body? And why won’t anyone take this seriously?’

So we decided to do just that. Take it seriously that is.

And we want the rest of society to join us.

We are on a mission to change the way society talks, thinks, and feels about reproductive health conditions by amplifying the voices that are so often dismissed.

We want to see real and meaningful change.

If we are to create a society where people are supported and not dismissed when they ask for help to manage their endometriosis, PCOS, PMDD, fibroids, and more, we need to put the idea of ‘just a bad period’ to rest and start listening to how these conditions often have a devastating impact on a person’s day-to-day life.

We are sharing stories from all over the UK, because the more we share and the louder we get, the harder we are to ignore.

Who is Freja’s?

Freja’s is a small organisation with big ambitions. The organisation was founded by Majken, who following her own experience of painful periods, fertility issues, and miscarriages, became increasingly frustrated with hearing stories similar to her own from friends and loved ones. Stories of not feeling seen, heard, and taken seriously. Both by medical professionals, and society at large.

Freja’s is now run with the help of a group of volunteers and a dedicated board of directors.

Passion alone cannot foot the bills. We are currently crowdfunding to help our mission for a society that talks, thinks, and feels differently about reproductive health conditions.
